If you are looking to sweat this summer, go to Korea, and can position to/from Minneapolis - well I got just the deal for you.
You can fly Delta One business class for 120k points each way (240k round-trip). If you have a Delta Amex co-branded credit card that has an annual fee, you get a 15% discount. So that makes it only 102k points each way! Good thing with Delta awards is the tax/fees are low ($6-34 each way) and they are fully refundable. However, only Amex transfers to Delta, and transfers are one way.
Importantly, you can book the flights TO Korea for 120k points. But you need to book a round-trip to get the same pricing on the return when averaged out, otherwise Delta wants 170k+ for a one-way from Korea back to US.
Luckily, Delta points seem to have some good uses every now and then. There have been a lot flash deals in the last few months to Asia & Europe.

The Minneapolis/Seoul flight is currently scheduled to be on Delta’s A350, which has a newer Delta One Suite. Yes, that means it has a door.
